Groups to host Greensburg vigil against refugee detention camps

Voice of Westmoreland, a nonpartisan community group that works to give everyone a voice, is hosting a candlelight vigil Friday, “to end human detention camps” on the U.S.’s southern border. Members of the group will join the community to “protest the inhumane conditions faced by refugees in our own country,” a news release reads.

Rally calling for Arnold mayor’s resignation goes on, but mayor not at city hall

Dozens of protesters gathered in front of Arnold city hall on Thursday to demand the resignation of Mayor Karen Peconi in response to recent Facebook posts by Peconi to her personal page that most would say were at least insensitive and, at worst, racist.
